Alex Trebek Is a Vegetarian

according to Statcounter, someone got to my blog by entering that phrase in yahoo's search engine. i felt like i had to share this because it is absolutely hilarious to me. That is all i have to say for now. Current trip and recent contemplations have left me in an almost never-ending state of pensive-ness. Expect a more thorough update soon.

Good Day.

One thing I do know is how to spoof referrers (victims know best lol).

1. You can write a PHP cURL script with custom HTTP headers, one of them being HTTP-referrer. If you mimic the URL syntax which is very simple (google is like http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=harvard+girls+are+sorta+hot for "harvard girls are sorta hot") then you can screw with people who have web stats. By viewing the source code of an HTML page, you can tell who has 3rd party stats, or you can mess with people who you know use services that offer referrer stats.

Yeah, this is overshare, but it does offer an insight if you ever find a referrer that claims to be from a search engine that doesn't actually have a link on the page.

2. Another way is to tamper with your own hosts file on a Windows PC (C:\windows\drivers\etc or something, do a search for a file called "hosts" on your PC with no file extension). You can manipulate this file and use 127.0.0.1 or a dedicated server under your command if you have one, and add the domain of popular site to this hosts file. Then visit this domain name, and your computer will go to a page on your computer or IP address under your control with the corresponding page. Then it's as easy as clicking a link you placed on this destination page, and when the person checks his/her referrer stats, they will see this renegade domain and believe it to be true.

Again, overshare, but it's better than learning the hard way like I had to. Good luck and your blog is bick- the color black is tight.
